The city on the Neva has always inspired writers and poets. Petersburg is harmonious and slender, its beauty and majesty in strict proportion and elegance of the lines, the composition of buildings. It is a city of lyrical ensembles, and special conditions. That's why poets and admire St. Petersburg, singing its way. Their works are not only works of art but also the monuments of bygone days, reflection and inner experience of each author. Their works are not only works of art, and monuments of the past, understanding and inner experience of each author. Over time the city was changing, had changed the mood of the people and the works created by them: XVIII century, glorifying the power, the power of the Empire, gave way to the nineteenth, which began the confrontation between the individual and the state, people's suffering, pain for the fate of the Russian peasant and the working man. These peripetias reflected in the works of A. S. Pushkin, V. A. Zhukovsky, N. A. Nekrasova.
In the early XX century, imbued with mysticism, tragedy of the human "I", the awareness of his hopeless loneliness, created works of A. A. Blok, I. Severyanin, A. A. Akhmatova, in each of which we see special, unusual Petersburg. The XX century was rich in events: the sad, joyful and tragic. They all reflected on the work of people who created their works at this time. October 1917 and the subsequent events were prominently featured by Vladimir Mayakovsky – poet of the revolution, the severe war period gave us the poems of O. F. Bergholz, works Canova V. M., M. M. Zoshchenko, J. P. Herman. Children's poetry by S. Marshak, D. Kharms, the works of V. S. Shefner, FR. A. Rozhdestvensky, A. S. Kushner, M. A. Dudin, G. Y. Gorbovsky, A. I. Brodsky: all of them allow you to walk in intimate to each of the authors of the Petersburg.
The exhibition will feature exhibits that allow you to feel the history of the city, expressed in the works of writers, poets, those who lived in St. Petersburg, has been here often or travel and wrote of him, whom the St. Petersburg encouraged to think about eternal values and the meaning of life.
