The Vitebsky railway station (originally called Tsarskoye Selo, then – Detskoselsky) – passenger terminal station of Saint – Petersburg – Vitebsk.
Vitebsk is the first station in Russia. The first one-storeyed wooden building was erected in 1837 for the first in Russia Tsarskoselskaya railway, connecting St. Petersburg and Tsarskoe Selo. The traffic on the section of St. Petersburg – Tsarskoe Selo was officially opened on 30 October 11 November 1837.
In 1849 – 1852, this place was built a stone building designed by architect K. A. Tone, which lasted until the beginning of XX century.
