

Historical Museum "Nevskaya Zastava" is old two – storeyed wooden house, it was built in the XIX century.It was surrounded by typical buildings of the 60 – ies of XX century and modern buildings, the house reminds us about the historical past of the Nevsky district.
In 1894 – 1895, the locksmith of Obukhovsky plant – Shelgunov Vasily Andreyevich had been living in this house. In his room were hold meeting the social – democratic circles, which were attended by C. I. Ulyanov (Lenin). Before 1965, the house remained residential.
On August 8, 1967, the day of the 100 – year anniversary of the birth V. A. Shelgunov, here it was opened the museum of revolutionary history of the Nevsky district. In 1992 on the basis of the museum of revolutionary history of the Nevsky district arises historical museum "Nevskaya Zastava", the exhibition, which tells the story of the Neva land since ancient times.
Currently, the permanent exhibition of the Museum is housed in four halls and includes the following sections: "Shlisselburg tract in XVIII – first half of XIX century", telling about the life and activities of the population; "Suburb Imperial capital", dedicated to the development of industry in the nineteenth century; "the Revolutionary movement of the workers of the Nevskaya Zastava" (room V. A. Shelgunov); "Nevsky (Volodarsky) district during the great Patriotic war 1941 – 45," covering the tragic pages of the history of Leningrad.
