I. V. Ivanov (1934 – 2017) is one of the key figures of Leningrad nonconformism, a participant and organizer of unofficial art exhibitions. The art historian Lubov Gurevich characterized I. V. Ivanov as “a poet of reflexes and psychophysical states, of all-piercing volatile life”.
The retrospective exhibition features all painting series of the author: the famous “Dolls” and “Crumpled paper”, “Flowers”, “Landscape”, “Nude” and started only after 2005 “Sails”. The exposition will be enriched by photos from family archive, a film about Ivanov’s art and video recordings of the ballets based on the artist’s paintings, staged by his daughter, Larisa Ivanova.
