18 – th of December 2015 will be held a permanent exhibition of "personal biography", which is dedicated to the history of the monument "To Heroic Defenders of Leningrad."
How could look the monument? Who served as models for the characters depicted? Why this monument can rightly be called folk? Who and why interfered in the work of the sculptor? The exhibition reveals unexpected and humanly touching, personal moments in the history of the monument.
The monument "To Heroic defenders of Leningrad" in Victory square under the project of Mikhail Konstantinovich Anikushin was opened 40 years ago, on the 30-th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war. In the hall you can see a large plaster model of the monument, sketches in clay and plaster, photographs and documents. In this post a few historic photos from the archives of the Museum of urban sculpture. The exhibition can be viewed in the museum's working hours since Wednesday to Sunday from 12.00 to 18.00. Ticket office till 17.00.
