We invite you to the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg 16.05.2014 at the exhibition "Names".
For visitors the exhibition will be open from 16.05.2014 – 20.05.2014 .
At the festival, more than 50 blacksmiths from Russia, Finland, the Baltic countries will demonstrate their skills and share the unique experience of creating works of art made of forged metal.
Throughout the day, guests can watch the celebration of the festival of manufacture – sundial "Time Wizard". Each of the participants in the festival blacksmiths produce for the author's sculpture detail. Forged sundial will be donated to the fortress.
On the origin and development of blacksmithing in our city will tell pageant "Peter Smithy." The festival program also included concert performances, show-drummers, power artists, children's brass band. Separate part of the program will forge 'fun': Concerto for Orchestra anvil, snare wedding ceremony. For guests of the festival will be organized competitions. Winners will receive prizes and diplomas.
During the festival, 17 – 20 May (opening May 16 at 16.00) in the atrium of the Commandant's house in the fortress will be an exhibition of Smithing "Names", which will present works of art forging made by blacksmiths from Russia and abroad. Each artist will present five of his best works. The exhibition will complement the work of winners "Corrosion" (organized by the magazine «GEO») and author of black and white photographs illustrating the "life metal" in the city.
