An abstract painting by Oleg Yakovlev is represented in tandem with remarkable sculpture by Lev Smorgon. Oleg Yakovlev – is one of the most interesting abstract artists of the second avant-garde. After participating in the famous Moscow exhibition of nonconformists in 1975, he lives and works in Paris, actively participates in prestigious art – projects. In Russia, his works can be seen in museum exhibitions devoted to abstract art.

Tretyakov Gallery acquired from Oleg Yakovlev few pictures for the exposition of the second half of the twentieth century. His works are represented in the State Russian Museum and in the world's most significant collections of abstractionists.
