In the summer of 2015 KGallery for the first time presents a unique exhibition of works of the West – European 17 – 19th centuries, and a collection of Russian painting of the 18th – early 20th centuries.
This gallery exhibits seventeen paintings of Flemish, Venetian, French and English schools artists, and a variety of genres. Dutch genre scenes, allegorical subjects in the spirit of Rubens, a pair of large-scale still lives, portraits, exquisite scene with horses and large-scale naval battles – ancient masterpieces from private collections can not only consider in detail, but also to buy.
Among the presented names: Flemish marine painter of 17th century Lucas Smout (Jr.), a representative of the late Italian Baroque Antonio Ballestra and extremely popular in the mid-19th century French animal painter Alfred Dedrё.
The exhibition also exhibited several Dutch genre scenes. One of them was painted by Cornelis van Essen, whose works are in the Hermitage, the National Museum of Sweden in Stockholm, the National Gallery in Prague and other museum collections in Europe.
"The cavalry battle" by renowned Simon van Dow and "Town Square with a fountain and a white cow" of possible authorship of his pupil Pieter van Bloemen are of the best traditions of the Antwerp school of painting.
The most interesting and enigmatic works is the "Allegory of view" – a small masterpiece of Martin Pepeyn, the famous author of a large-scale "Royal Ball" from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of A. Pushkin (Moscow), as well as many historical paintings. It is one of five works of series "The Five Senses". "Allegory of Hearing" is now in the National Museum of Arts named after B. and B. Khanenko in Kiev. The other three "feelings" – are in private collections.
The exhibition "Old Masters in KGallery" will be open during the summer months.
